ASL News #135. Kharkov In Flames. Starter Kit. Zamoly II Update. Grenadier Pack. ASL Companion 5.

Kharkov In Flames is being released at ASLOK this week. We are placing our order today. Being the same designer as Hatten In Flames, I expect a very playable CG.

Zamoly II is now at the printers which means if everything goes right, we should be shipping in a few weeks. We are already almost sold out and it is unlikely that we will get a restock. Also of note, we have less than a dozen Zamoly I left in stock.

Le Franc Tireur is hitting us with a double next month with the release of a new From the Cellar pack and the fifth edition in the ever popular ASL Companion. The new FTC pack includes 12 brand new tournament sized scenarios that are being featured at the 2026 Grenadier Tournament in Germany.

ASL Companion #5 will be shipping to you at the same time as the FTC Grenadier Pack. More chapters of excellent reading in easy to understand English. It’s just like talking to an old friend vs. the usual divorce attorney rules experience.

Wonderful news for the Starter Kit community. MMP has reprinted 5 titles including the 1st CG ‘Decision at Elst. Unbelievably, it this hour of skyrocketing inflation, the prices have actually come down.

Starter Kit shipping to us next week!

News from the Home Front:

Our beloved Landi, whom many of you know has been your person of contact and shipper extraordinaire here at Ritterkrieg, is getting married this weekend to my son, Lazarus.

Solution to Puzzle #134 –

So the crux is if the US squad rallies, the Americans will automatically take control of Building EE14 for the win. So if the German player can eliminate the Squad (unlikely) or more realistically make it harder for him to Rally, they will have a good chance of winning. So… we would like to plop a DM counter on them. Since it is the AFPh, the Tiger is irrelevant as it has no LOS and no more chance to move. So it’s all up the INF Gun. So looking at its chances of hitting, it needs an 8(ITT) +1 (Range), +2 (Acquired), -2 (AFPh), -2(Wooden Building (SSR) = 7. Well coincidentally, that is also the Gun’s HEAT number. So, if this scenario is set in/after May ’42 (which we know it is because of the presence of the Tiger), then it is available. Now the German effectively gets two chances to hit the Americans with a 8+ only meaning HEAT was not available and they can try again with an HE shot. So the odds of scoring a hit jumps from 58% to 82% (barring a malfunction on the HEAT roll).
