Pre-Order Poland In Flames with Free Dice plus much more

I am very excited to be receiving our first order from the great people at Bounding Fire Productions.  We will be carrying a small quantity of each of their products in stock for you.  Once again, if you are already a customer of Scott or Alex, please check with them first for all of you ASL needs.  All of BFP’s modules are on sale and we have a very special offer for the brand new Poland in Flames module.   With the purchase of PIF, not only do you get our reduced pre-order price, you also get free shipping, PLUS you get a free set of Polish precision dice!

What’s the catch?  I only have three sets of the dice in stock so I am limiting the offer to the first three PIF orders.  Why am I doing this?  I am hoping that you love the dice so much that you will return to my site to buy more for your other nationalities.  Note that PIF will only be arriving to retailers next month but I will be shipping the same day it arrives in my hands.  You can pre-order PIF Here

MMP News:

DuPont4DuPont1 - Copy DuPont2

Keith DuPont sent me photos of his first game on the new table.  The table was made to hold RAACO trays which he is planning on getting soon. Chris at Battleschool is selling RAACO for those of you that are looking to switch to or expand your counter storage.

On deck:

Afrika Korps ammo case (to hold ASL maps) for Eric at the outpost.  I will be posting photos of the finished product soon.

Finishing the Kakazu ridge and Dinant 3D maps for Dan.

PzIIIJ table for Andy.

Dice tower for Tim.  All I can say is you will not believe your eyes when you see what we came up with for this design.  It will blow your socks off.

Personal:

If I don’t post again in the next week, I want to wish everyone happy holidays and a wonderful new year.  Spend time with the ones you love (even if it’s just a phone call).

Best wishes.

Derek and Ulrich.

ASL stock order (including turrets) has arrived

Busy month ahead in the workshop.  I am finishing the Dinant maps for Dan Dolan and then continuing work on a custom ASL table top for Andy Hershey.  Everything must be ready by Winter Offensive.  One more table top and a dice tower and I am free to breathe again.  Mike Hershey (no relation to Andy) gave me a wonderful idea when we were talking in Albany to make mini ammo cases to store the dice towers, dice, and trays.  I am looking forward to giving this a try.  I will keep you posted with photos of how this turns out.

Registration has opened for MMP’s Winter Offensive.  Note the change of Date this year.

We just received what will probably be our final shipment of the year.  There are some old items that were out of stock and some new items as well.

New Items:

Suction cup tool from Chris at Battleschool.  Perfect gift for your sausage fingered friends (Tim Brieaddy) who continually knock over your concealed stacks (by accident?!?)

The winner of the November 2015 raffle for the one of a kind 60mm OBA coffee mug is Chris Brackney.   Congrats Chris, I will be mailing your prize in the morning.  Thanks to Tim Brieaddy at Redheaded t-shirts for supplying the great prize. December’s raffle will be the 70mm OBA coffee mug.  Remember that you are automatically entered into the raffle for 12 months with any purchase from the site.

I just got back from the NY State ASL Championships last night.  This was my first time attending and it was a great experience.  Steve, Gary, and Joe did a great job running a very tight ship.  The raffle prizes were out of this world.  Congrats to JR Tracy for the big win.

I have posted some new products in the store including some Grofaz USMC dice (only one set left).

There are only 3 spots left for the ‘Where the Iron Crosses Grow’ team tournament.  If you have always wanted to experience Kernersville’s premier ASL event, now is your chance!  Don’t let your dreams be dreams.  Yesterday you said tomorrow…JUST DO IT!

Countersmith Workshop turrets are in hand.  I will be posting them to the site shortly.

12193805_1517327208581693_6537556686286475897_nWoodworking:

Lately I have been having a hard time justifying the time spent making ASL wood products like tabletops, dice towers, and map cases commercially.  In the past I only made them as gifts for my friends or people who I thought would really appreciate them.  I just finished one table top for Keith DuPont and he stopped by last night on his way back to Ohio and I realized that my reward wasn’t in the small profit that is made but in meeting wonderful people in the hobby that I may have never met otherwise.  It made me very happy to see the expression on his face when he saw the table for the first time and told me how excited he was to get home to play his first game on it.  That really was my reward.  That being said, I am not sure if I will continue to make these products for sale for much longer as it is a tremendous amount of hours for each piece.   I still have two more tables and a tower that I have committed to and then I may take a break for a while.

cardphoto4OBA Cards:

My inventory on the OBA cards is getting low.  Scott at GA is sold out.  Xavier probably has some left for his customers on that side of the pond and Alex may have some left as well.  I will be bringing 10 to Albany for Chris at Battleschool in Canada so he may have a few sets that aren’t reserved that he can sell.  I do not foresee these cards (in this complete version) ever being reprinted again so if you want them, contact one of us before they are gone.

Finland 3 FrontSniper/ELR cards:

CALL FOR HELP: The Sniper cards are coming along very well with the toughest part now getting quality photos of snipers from the more obscure nationalities.  If anyone has a cool photo of a sniper that they would like to see in the deck, please forward it to me (I have already spent countless hours on Google and Bing so I am looking for rarer photos).  I am in real need of the Allied/Axis minors, Japanese, French, and Chinese.  Scopes are nice but not required.

The ELR cards are looking great.  It is amazing how quickly you can run out of room on a card when you start brainstorming ‘what would be useful information’.  As is his signature, Andy Hershey is turning a good product into a great product with his tireless proofing and editing.

These cards should be up for pre-order as soon as we get an accurate idea of the size and cost of the project.

The Albany ASL Tournament (NY State ASL Championship):

Now only days away.  My first time attending and am blessed to have my best friend Tim Brieaddy making the 11 hour drive with me.  If that isn’t fantastic enough, my Dad is meeting us there so I can drive him back to NC for Christmas.  I am looking very forward to the coming days.  If anyone needs any ASL products, let me know by Wednesday and I can drive it up with me.

What’s new and coming soon to Ritter Krieg

News for the upcoming days and weeks here at Ritter Krieg…

Monthly Raffle – Here is the finished coffee mug  from the good folks at Redheaded t-shirts for our monthly drawing.    To enter into the raffle for the month just subscribe to our blog at the top left of the page.  And remember, anyone who buys something in our store is automatically entered for a whole year of raffles (or until you win a prize).  November’s raffle will the a coffee mug with both sides of the 60mm OBA card on it.  So as you are sipping on your hot cup of tea you can thank God you aren’t in those cold mountains of Greece in the winter time.  Boy, do they look miserable.

AFV Turrets – we are finishing up a deal with Battleschool to get stock of the beautiful Russian/German and US/British turret counters from Countersmith Workshop.

Battle Dice – Good news! we have just about the entire line of Battledice from Battleschool in stock including some 14mm and 12.5mm precision backgammon dice.  Don’t forget that we are offering free shipping as always.  Bad News!  most of the dice are in quantities of one or two, so they may be sold out very soon.IMG_2819 (2)

Woodworking – We have orders for ASL tabletops (3) and Dicetowers (1) that we are working on.  Unfortunately, this puts any future orders into February + for completion.  If I ever get caught up, I will make some inventory for immediate sale to post in the store.  I will post finished photos as they become available.IMG_2812

Sniper, Terrain, and ECO cards-  The results of the poll are in and after weighing all that is involved, we have decided to produce the Sniper cards first.  This is a much more manageable project than the terrain cards and we want to get something out to you by ASLOK XXXI.  Hopefully the first installment of the terrain cards (PTO) will be ready by ASLOK XXXII.

The second Annual ‘Where the Iron Crosses Grow’ ASL Team Tournament will be held April 2nd-3rd, 2016.  World renowned as being the best and oldest ASL Team Tournament in the entire Kernersville Area.

Spirit Of The Event:  This event is held for fun.  If you are the type of player that never looks up from the table to make eye contact with your opponent, doesn’t make small talk or tell stories, will only play scenarios that you have mastered, or get’s offended by jokes about Ken’s mom, then you might not have a good time being here and we probably won’t have a good time having you here.  Sorry to be so blunt but we take our lack of seriousness very seriously.

Format:  Team Tournament. Each team is made up of 1 Veteran, 1 intermediate, and 1 Novice player.  Each player plays round-robin games against the other players in their class gaining points for their team.

When: Saturday April 2nd – Sunday April 3rd, 2016 (Carnage begins Friday night but the tournament begins Saturday)

Cost: Free (but bring money to pitch in for Pizza)

Accomodations: Ray Woloszyn and I may both have room for travelers to stay with us at our homes (Ray lives in the neighborhood next to mine) unless you are really creepy.

Scenario list: None.  Play something that you would like to play not what I would like you to play.  All scenarios choices are upon mutual agreement of the players.

Prizes: Too many to mention.  Plus some participation awards so everyone feels like a  winner.

I set up with my halftracks on the right to swing all around his defenses and into the backfield of the victory area, unload and start gobbling up buildings.  One Panther is to move HD to take on his M10 in the center of the map.  My two PzIV’s will lay down some smoke for my advancing infantry.  My two Flame tanks will try to break the nearest squads while the Smoke gives them a little cover.

Turn 1 sees everything unfold pretty much according to plan.  3 US squads break.  The halftracks don’t get nearly as far as I’d like because of the ground snow. No significant casualties.

image

Turn 2 and there are some nasty developments including my HD panther taking an APCR turret hit from the US TD, one PzIV knocked out and another immobilized.  Luckily I was able to move a squad adjacent to the TD who stepped outside for the Panzerfaust shot.  Smores at the campfire time.  Then a baby sniper wounds my 10-2 who bleeds out.  The three squads with him have seen enough and break rendering their MMG’s useless for another turn until I can get them motivated to get back into the fight.  On a good note, one of my PzIIIFl roasts a squad and starts a flame in the building while the other breaks a squad and 9-1 leader.  The entire right flank is now defenseless and within reach of my mopping up forces for turn 3.  If I can bag them, it will bring the casualty count to 1 squad and 1 M10  KIA, 3 squads and a 9-1 leader prisoner.  Also of note, his other M10 loads a shell into the breach backwards and malfs the MA.
