Q43 – TELESE, ITALY, 11 October 1943Monte Acero looms over the Volturno valley—a razor’s edge of terrain where every ridge is a battlefield. Elite German scouts and assault guns brace against relentless U.S. artillery and armour. Ambushes, counterattacks, and shattered units clash in a desperate race to hold the line one more day. The clock is ticking.

German rearguards fight desperately to buy time, but Canadian infantry strikes fast—Black Watch under fire, Maisonneuve joining the push, and Calgary Highlanders smashing a bridge demolition attempt with a single, brutal PIAT shot. Prisoners pile up. Momentum grows. The retreat is turning into a rout.

Two days of brutal fighting decide everything—and Le Parc de Boislonde will not fall quietly.

The 284th Rifle Division surges forward with T-70s in support—only to meet merciless machine gun fire and a killing crossfire on Hill 188.5. Confusion, blame, and burning steel mark the field. Bridges failed, tanks stalled, and bodies paid for every meter gained.

Soviet assaults crash through streets, sewers, and rubble. Snipers, tanks, and desperation rule the day. The question isn’t victory—only how long the defenders can still hold.

Q48 – MEDNOYE, RUSSIA, 19 October 1941: Fog, snow, and rain cloak Mednoye as Soviet troops and tanks surge from the woods in a sudden assault. Visibility drops. Nerves tighten. The Lehr Brigade fights hard, but surprise and steel break their line. By mid-afternoon, Mednoye is free—and 500 prisoners walk into daylight.
